Welcome to my Sims 2 Blog!

This blog is to keep track of all my Sims 2 (TS2) stuffeths. I mostly "build" - houses, apartments, recreational, and community lots - but, I also create walls (and murals), floors, terrain paint, and various other recolors. And I've written a few tutorials too. 😁

All of my items are available through Mod the Sims - MTS2: CatherineTCJD.

Most of my stuff is also posted on Tumblr: A Peacock's Tale.

And I'm slowly adding things to Simblr: CatherineTCJD.

I also have an archive of everything I have made on SFS: CatherineTCJD.

Thank you for visiting!

This tutorial shows how to attach a garage to a "lowered foundation"
- or, actually, ANY foundation - with the Grid-Adjuster

YOU WILL NEED

AND I SUGGEST READING
Moo's own G-A Tutorial
My other Grid-Adjuster Tutorials...

This tutorial assumes you are already familiar with TS2 building techniques and the Grid-Adjuster (somewhat familiar, anyway!)

Instructions:
The house built for this tutorial has specifically a 2-click/2-step foundation. BUT, the same technique can be used for regular 4-click foundations, or any height you need. Just modify the Grid-Adjuster settings accordingly.

Tutorial: How to Make Maxis Rebuilds/Remodels Permanent

Have you ever remodeled a Downtown Lot - made everything perfect for your little  simmies to enjoy - and then lost your hood somehow? 🙀
Now you have to start over... and try to remember every detail you added to that Eaxis Downtown Lot to make it enjoyable for your sims. *sigh*
...and then your HD dies, and you have to do it ALL over again! OMG!

Well - this is how to keep that perfect made-over lot, so the next time you have to restart your hood, it is already there, ready and waiting, for your sims to come play.

Change Max Slope Value - Mod to Place Lots on Forbidden Slopes

Cross-posted to MTS and Simblr.

Change Max Slope Value

Do you want to place lots where you want them? Regardless of a steep slope? Then this trick is for you!

- When you place one of the game's empty lots down in your hood - this mod allows lot placement without changing the terrain. Empty lots will no longer automagically flatten; you will be able to build according to the lay of the land.
You can build off the side of a cliff with this mod!

- When placing lots from the LotBin (pre-built lots) - you can place them on slopes, and uneven terrain without issue. This will not change the terrain inside the lot; it will conform the terrain around the lot to match.
You can populate the "ridge" in Belladonna Cove with houses now!

Tutorial: How to Build Into a Hill with the Grid-Adjuster

I've had a few people ask about building "into hills" or on "uneven terrain" - so I thought I'd do up a quick pictorial. This can all be done with straight CFE, but I like using the Grid-Adjuster.

The 10 pictures below will show you how I do it...

Tutorial: For Building Basic Split-level Houses

I was asked a while long, long, time ago to write up a tutorial about how I go about building split-level houses...
Then, a year later, another person gently reminded me that the first person had asked... so... I finally did it.
Sometimes it takes me a while. I'm sorry it took this long! I hope this information is still useful?
