Welcome to my Sims 2 Blog!

This blog is to keep track of all my Sims 2 (TS2) stuffeths. I mostly "build" - houses, apartments, recreational, and community lots - but, I also create walls (and murals), floors, terrain paint, and various other recolors. And I've written a few tutorials too. 😁

All of my items are available through Mod the Sims - MTS2: CatherineTCJD.

Most of my stuff is also posted on Tumblr: A Peacock's Tale.

And I'm slowly adding things to Simblr: CatherineTCJD.

I also have an archive of everything I have made on SFS: CatherineTCJD.

Thank you for visiting!

Sim SummerStock Theatre ~ Community Lot

Originally uploaded to MTS on July 25th, 2017.

Today is the final performance of A Midsummer Night's Romeo - a gritty little 'teen angst' piece, proudly written and directed by our very own Brandi Broke!

By special arrangement with the Veronaville Players, today's performance will feature rising star Mr Tybalt Capp in the lead role. (If we can stop Brandi from swooning every time Tye-tye walks by, it should be a very good show!)

Don't forget to pick up your tickets at the box office...
The house should open for seating soon:

Please scroll down through all the pictures for a virtual tour of the facility.

I have to tell you all that this build is very near and dear to my heart.
Besides the Sims, my favorite hobbies are music, theatre, and music theatre. I love everything about the theatre - from walking the boards myself, to directing, and stage managing, set building, running the lightboard, rigging (I was once known as the "Lady of the Flies" during a rigging intense show of "Anything Goes"), ...to chairing the play reading committee, and sitting on the board of directors.

My two all-time favorite roles have been as lead alto in the ensemble of Sweeney Todd: the demon barber of Fleet Street - Sondheim's score is challenging to sing, and soooo beautiful to hear; and as May Henning, the main character in The Affections of May - a four-person-cast, straight play. As May, the lead character, I only left the stage twice (except for during intermission) - and both times were for 30 second costume changes.
Oi! That was fun! 😁
Really, it was!

This TS2 community lot 'theatre' plays well - your sim will have a lot to do and enjoy on this lot. There are many RL things I've left out (like the rigging loft and sound booth!) Remember this build is mostly CC-free; and it's meant to be a temporary outdoor (Summer's only) venue - IE: The brick walls of the set are just painted - they're not real brick bricks. And the red curtain on the stage is meant to be a 'back drop' - not the stage's curtain. There is no stage curtain per se, it is a multilevel platform stage.

Anywho... I hope your sims will enjoy their new theatre!
I'll leave you with a few "Words" of wisdom aspiring thespians should enjoy:

This is a clean copy of this lot; no sim has ever been here. The package has been cleaned with Mootilda's Clean Installer.

There is no Custom Content included.

...but, you will need the Lifestyle Build Bundle for some of the walls.
And the stone archway for the front entry: EA Store Castle Build/Buy set.
