Welcome to my Sims 2 Blog!

This blog is to keep track of all my Sims 2 (TS2) stuffeths. I mostly "build" - houses, apartments, recreational, and community lots - but, I also create walls (and murals), floors, terrain paint, and various other recolors. And I've written a few tutorials too. 😁

All of my items are available through Mod the Sims - MTS2: CatherineTCJD.

Most of my stuff is also posted on Tumblr: A Peacock's Tale.

And I'm slowly adding things to Simblr: CatherineTCJD.

I also have an archive of everything I have made on SFS: CatherineTCJD.

Thank you for visiting!

Just Married - Quirky and Cheap Living - Contest House - 1 CC

The Traveller's were really impressed by the neighborhood when they visited. So much so, that they talked Trent's younger brother, Travis, into purchasing this wonderful little piece of land... with a tree smack-dab in the middle of everything.

This lot was built for Loaf's "It Takes A Village" contest on MTS back in 2013. My original entry is HERE. The contest requirements were: ROUND 5 OBJECTIVES - An empty plot has finally become available in your village, and you've been given planning permission to build on it. Sadly, you were so excited at the prospect of building somewhere from the ground-up, you didn't read the details of the land correctly, and now are the somewhat bashful owner of a small plot complete with a large, beautiful tree - a large, beautiful tree with a Tree Preservation order on it. The THEME was 'Mean Maisonette' - A two-story home, built for 2 sims starting out. MUST HAVE - combined kitchen/diner, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom with tub. CAN HAVE - gardening plot, spiral staircase, ceiling fan. CC walls and floors are allowed.

This is a quirky little lot, I don't know why I never uploaded it to MTS? But, I really like it! I have revisited it to remove all the CC walls and floors; but then added an OMSP to the column in the carport area - it just looked wrong, not reaching the ceiling!

Travis and Tanya graduated about month ago from SSU, and were married just last week. They decided instead of embarking on an over-priced honeymoon, they would put the money they saved into building their starter home. Travis, who is establishing himself as an architect, designed this house to fit their current needs - with an eye toward keeping it as his office when their family grows and they move to a bigger place. He really likes the close proximity to their new town (they do not own a car.) Tanya was quick to be hired on as the Activity Director at the Kid's Kingdom across the street; so, she walks to work. Travis' moped is convenient enough to get him where he needs to go in town - to meet clients, etc...

Their furniture is a strange mix of Mom/Dad hand-me-downs, college thrift finds from before they met - and after, plus a bunch of shiny new wedding presents.

After returning all five toaster ovens, three microwaves, four coffee makers, a set of dishes, and bunches of towels - Tanya doesn't "do" flowery pastels; didn't anyone even read the registry?!? - they recouped enough money to upgrade their appliance package, and add a dishwasher and wall compactor.  The red accents (Travis's favorite color) really bring everything together upstairs in the Master Suite. This is their favorite room of the house

Most mornings you can find Tanya here at her easel, with a paintbrush in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other.

The original "Tree" was the big shady Bay tree - it fits perfectly in place of the Plumeria, if you want to switch it back... I switched to the smaller tree while I was remodeling and just forgot to put it back. 🤷

2021 UPDATE: Now with only 1 CC!

--- You will need to have Numenor's Unlevel Wall - #90 - I use this wall all the time as it is such a forgiving wall to build with
--- I suggest Sophie-David's Invisible Driveway to invisify the driveway.
