Welcome to my Sims 2 Blog!

This blog is to keep track of all my Sims 2 (TS2) stuffeths. I mostly "build" - houses, apartments, recreational, and community lots - but, I also create walls (and murals), floors, terrain paint, and various other recolors. And I've written a few tutorials too. 😁

All of my items are available through Mod the Sims - MTS2: CatherineTCJD.

Most of my stuff is also posted on Tumblr: A Peacock's Tale.

And I'm slowly adding things to Simblr: CatherineTCJD.

I also have an archive of everything I have made on SFS: CatherineTCJD.

Thank you for visiting!

MidCentury Duplex Apartments
1970's Style - Modern Mansard
4 bedrooms - 1.5 bathrooms - garage
- pet friendly -

~~~ No CC! ~~~
The floor plan comes from this blog: Modern Mansards.
Please enjoy touring the rest of this design by scrolling down through all the pictures.
These duplex apartments are fully furnished, and lightly decorated. All appliances, plumbing and lighting are included. The stoves and grills have smoke alarms. The front doors are burglar alarmed. There are two telephones for each apartment, one on each level.
This is a clean copy of this house/lot; no sim has ever lived here. The package has been cleaned with Mootilda's Clean Installer.
There is parking for three vehicles for each apartment; one in the garages, and two on the driveways. Each apartment comes with a car already in it's garage, this car belongs to that apartment. However, if you place more cars on the driveways, the driveway cars will be community property (...and must be placed before moving anysim onto the lot.)
This is a pet-friendly build. No pet items are included - but there is plenty of space to add them, the bathtubs are accessible for dog washing.
NOTE: The roof causes one nightstand in the master bedrooms to not be accessible - but, everything has been tested and everything else works (Just don't put anything you want to use on that nightstand - it will be deco only!) I recommend playing this lot with the roof OFF.
Possibly used but NOT included - so, you may need to GO get it:
- I use the Lifestyle Build Bundle wallpapers/floors ALL the time. (follow the link and it's the second link in the top post - extracted by Argon/MATY) This 'bundle' lives back in my Bins folder so it doesn't have the CC star. If you ever enter one of my builds and find it has blank/unpapered walls/floors, it is because I used ones from this bundle and forgot to mention it. So, either substitute the wall/floor of your choice, or go get this bundle and re-install the lot (from your lot bin.)
There is No Custom Content Included.
Lot Size: 4X3
Lot Price (furnished): $163,328
Rent (furnished): $5,505 - $5,590 (Scroll to the bottom for help renting a furnished apartment!)
NOTE: The pictures show 'L' shaped stairs - which don't work in apartments (silly sims!) The stairs have been changed, and are now the spiral staircases.
How to rent a Furnished Apartment:
- Bring up the cheat box with CTRL-SHIFT-C.
- Enter the following cheat: boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true
- Walk your sim to the front door of the apartment that you want to rent. They need to be standing right in front of the door.
- Clear any actions from your sim's queue - including other sims trying to talk to them.
- SHIFT-click on the door of the apartment you wish to rent and choose "Rent Furnished."
- If the action falls out of your queue, your sim probably needs to be closer to the door.
- Once the apartment is rented, bring up the cheat box again.
- Enter: boolProp testingCheatsEnabled false to turn the cheat off again.
