Welcome to my Sims 2 Blog!

This blog is to keep track of all my Sims 2 (TS2) stuffeths. I mostly "build" - houses, apartments, recreational, and community lots - but, I also create walls (and murals), floors, terrain paint, and various other recolors. And I've written a few tutorials too. 😁

All of my items are available through Mod the Sims - MTS2: CatherineTCJD.

Most of my stuff is also posted on Tumblr: A Peacock's Tale.

And I'm slowly adding things to Simblr: CatherineTCJD.

I also have an archive of everything I have made on SFS: CatherineTCJD.

Thank you for visiting!

Contempo Beach House (c.1986) ~ 3B/2.5B - Sloped Lot

Originally uploaded on MTS July 14th, 2011.

Now Updated for the UC/UltimateCollection; and rebuilt with less CC!

Yeah, contemporary to 1986. LOL!

See, my self-sim (I call her Cat) had this great idea - to start a Real Estate home/business. The only problem was that this idea occurred in 2007, just as the market was starting to crash. Oopsie.

Being the self-sufficient, spunky young lass that she is (as I'm sure I was back in the day) 😂 *snort* ...she decided to start small and bought this little fix-er-upper. It's in a really nice location - across the street from a beautiful beach on SimFlorida's upper East coast - and the plan was to make a few cosmetic fixes and flip it fast.

With the market crashing all around Cat, she realized overpriced beach-house handyman-specials were not exactly high priority Real Estate ventures. *sigh* And, after spending a few nights sleeping in her new investment, she knew she couldn't, in good conscious, "flip it fast" without repairing some of the structural damage first (apparently the hurricanes of 2004, that criss-crossed SimFlorida several times had left their mark - and were probably the reason the last owners had all but abandoned it to the lowest bidder.) So, as you can see, cosmetics soon went out the window (literally, DIY construction is dirty work!) Even now, much of the outside hasn't been touched; and only the Master Bedroom has been "fixed up" properly, with new paint and paper. Most of the interior is still sporting the original decor. But, the house is now structurally sound. The only little noises you'll hear at night are the crickets, cicadas, and the waves gently lapping the beach across the street - that is, if you turn off the spiffy new AC and crack open a window.

This house is NOT built on a level lot. It is a sloped lot - gently sloping down in back.

And it has a LOT less CC than the original version!

CC includes:
tBudgett's Craftsman Window/Door Set (10 pieces)
N65's weathered Pinegultcher fence
Frillen's TranspGlass floor #31 - which apparently has been removed from MTS?
3 terrain paints (by Justa and Ilona, who have left the TS2 community)
and 8 of Pixelhate's Time Factor Walls

--- You may need to have Numenor's Unlevel Wall - #90 - I use this wall all the time as it is such a forgiving wall to build with 😉
NOTE: If you decide NOT to use Numenor's Wall #90, there may be missing wall sections or pieces of the WroughtIron fence in place of walls.

Lot Size: 20X20
Lot Price: $74,851
